I just wanted to tell you about Uncle George. In 1942, because of the war, there were only a few cars made. Uncle George had one of them he had bought from mr. Williams for $2.00 (Two Dollars" )told me Mr Williams bought it in Selmer, drove it almost to Uncle George's shop and it ran out of gasoline. Uncle George told him that it ran on gasoline and told him he would have to put gasoline in it. He said it would only take two dollars to fill it up. The man said give me the two dollars and you can have that thing. In 1959 He still had that car, I would take a bus to his place sometimes, when I was coming home from Memphis, and he would let me drive his car home. The first car I ever drove, no drivers license, you couldn't get them until you got 21 years old. I think that is the only car he ever bought to drive. He did have a truck to drive scrap metal to Jackson.
